If you're looking for a versatile safety gate, this is a good choice. The First Years All Clear Swing Gate sports a good-looking molded plastic frame with clear plastic center panels. It can be doorway mounted using pressure or permanently mounted using the included hardware. When pressure mounted, the gate doesn't swing open but is easily portable from room to room. When hardware mounted, the gate swings easily one way or two ways, and can be used in doorways or at the top of stairs. Regardless of the way in which it is mounted, the gate slides to expand and fits doorways ranging from 27.5" to 42.5" wide.

We put this gate up to keep our daughter from going up the stairs. It is wonderful b/c it doesn't have holes in it for little feet to climb - it is very easy to use with one hand and so easy to clean!! We have them mounted on our wall so they swing open and are very easy to detach and take with us to use as a pressure mount when we go somewhere where they don't have a baby but do have stairs.

I went through five gates to keep my chihuahua in the kitchen while I am at work. This is the only gate he can not get out of; i love it.

I was really excited about this gate due to its great reviews. It is a nice gate - I like that it is clear and it is really easy and fast to mount and un-mount onto walls. However, my 27 month old was able to climb over it as it has a little ledge where the white plastic meets the clear plastic...so if you have a climber like I do, I would go with another gate option...

Our favorite gate. Pressure mount is strong enough that it doesn't need mounting hardware, easy to put up and take away, light weight, and doesn't look hideous.

After drilling the holes for the swinging side of the gate the top mounting bracket was too low. After unscrewing the bracket and putting on the top peg I remarked the screw holes for the new position. Thus making two new holes 1/2 inch from the old ones. Also before drilling the holes for the other latching side I lined up the bumpers and made sure they were right. Next I drilled the holes in the door frame and they did not line up with the holes on the plastic. I used one hole to screw the bracket on and then re-drilled the other which ended up being 1/4 inch from the first. I guess it is all working now but have more holes in my woodwork than I wanted.
